(Headquarters: Osaka; President: Hidetoshi Segi, “ROHTO”), following the capital alliance previously established between the two companies. The collaboration will focus on the development of production technologies for extracellular vesicles (EVs), which include exosomes.
■Background and Purpose
EXORPHIA is a biotechnology start-up pioneering novel therapeutics based on extracellular vesicles (EVs). Since its founding in 2019, the company has advanced product development across multiple disease areas, with the mission of transforming healthcare through EV science.
Rohto has established the “Rohto Group Comprehensive Management Vision 2030: Connect for Well-being” and is continuing to take on various challenges toward the future of medical care and healthcare with the aim of realizing a well-being society. In the regenerative medicine business, the company is conducting research and development centered on mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs).
Through this collaboration, ROHTO’s manufacturing infrastructure and quality management systems will be combined with EXORPHIA’s proprietary EV production and development expertise. Together, the companies will advance EV production technologies with the aim of expanding opportunities in regenerative medicine and enhancing corporate value.
